Additional Materials

- Sewing machine cleaned, oiled, and in good working order.
- A 1/4" presser foot. Very important. Adjustable needly position will sometimes work, or an "ANGLER" for your machine. This helps with stitching diagonal lines without marking and with your 1/4" seam allowances.
- Size 70/10 or 80/12 Sharps needles.
- Good quality thread in neutral color or to match your fabric, and pre-wounded bobbins. A light beige or gray will blend with just about anything.
- Rotary mat, rotary cuter with fresh blade, rotary rule (these can be shared). Ironing boards and irons are supplied.
- Fabric marking pencil. Pins, seam ripper etc.
- Small light. Chair pillows. This is a sewing marathon and you want to be comfortable.
- Please mark all tools with your name. Address labels are great for this.

Really Hot Tips!

- Wash and iron your fabrics only if you normally do or if there is a question of bleeding dyes. Try using spray starch when ironing to restore body if you wash. Keep in mind, that washing shrinks the fabric. If your fabric is less than 40" wide (regular) or 20" wide (fat quarters) after washing you may need more fabric.
- Make sure to square the end of your fabric before cutting and watch those selvage edges. Always be careful to cut accurately. It is SO important to your end product.
- Keep your cut fabrics in groups in separate "baggies" or boxes so you don't mix them up. Mark them as per the Cutting Directions: Fab A1, B2 etc.
- Make a color chart by gluing small pieces of your fabrics to an index card and labeling it as per the materials list (Color A, B etc). All the clues will refer to your fabric by the letter codes so this will prevent confusion.
- Buy extra fabric, as the amounts shown are figured close and after washing you may have less than specified if it was cut close. Bring your leftover fabric in case of accidents...or inspiration!!!!
